POTENTIAL FIELD GEOPHYSICS FOR HYDROCARBON EXPLORATION

Our job is to help you solve geologic problems using geophysics. We can provide you with a variety of geophysical services, including: Airborne Geophysical Surveys, Marine Gravity / Magnetic Surveys, Borehole Gravity Surveys, Land & Helicopter-Supported Gravity Surveys, Data Processing & Reprocessing Services, Non-Exclusive Data Sets, Integrated Geologic Interpretations, and Research & Development.

AIRBORNE GEOPHYSICAL SURVEYS

A variety of techniques is offered for oil and gas exploration. The techniques offered below will permit you to:

Gravity/Magnetic Surveys - used to locate sedimentary basins, to infer the location of the thickest sedimentary section, and to delineate basin boundaries

MARINE GRAVITY / MAGNETIC SURVEYS

Techniques offered include dynamic marine gravity and magnetics and sea-bottom gravity. EDCON has more than 30 years and more than 2 million line- kilometers of experience acquiring marine gravity and magnetic survey data worldwide.

BOREHOLE GRAVITY SURVEYS

We are one of the few companies in the world to offer borehole gravity surveys (BHGM). Our solutions to operational issues have made deep-density logging of wells with BHGM so practical that its utility is now recognized in both production management and formation evaluation. BHGM applications include:

Remote Sensing - detecting faults/overthrusts; mapping reef structures, salt flanks, flares and overhangs; evaluating fracture systems and porosity away from the well

Formation Evaluation - logging through casing; avoiding invasion effects; logging fractured zones and washed-out boreholes; detecting of porosity not penetrated by well

LAND and HELICOPTER-SUPPORTED GRAVITY SURVEYS

n Conventional land or helicopter-supported gravity with GPS surveying n Practical microgravity surveys for oil, mining and engineering applications using our Super-GTM (EDCON-enhanced L&R Model G gravity meters).

DATA PROCESSING & REPROCESSING SERVICES

High-quality processing is the key to turning potential field geophysical data into useful information for geological decisions. Our geophysicists have innovated many of the industry's processing steps and thus are both exceptionally experienced and ideally qualified to help solve exploration and production problems. To meet customer needs, we process data acquired by both our own crews and by others.

We have developed portable processing facilities for work to be completed in the field. This flexibility provides more responsive services while satisfying quality control needs and restrictions on data movement and confidentiality.

We also regularly reprocess airborne and marine gravity survey data acquired by other contractors.

Why are we regularly asked to reprocess these survey data? Clients see details in our reprocessing of these survey data that are not seen in the original processing performed by the contractor that acquired the data. The reprocessed results are commonly validated by the close correlation between known and subsequently discovered geologic structure not seen in the original processing. Our processing uses filtering techniques that optimize the separation of the geologic signal from motion effects of the aircraft or boat. The end result is more accurate removal of corrections, reduced smoothing of geologic signal, and a sharper picture of geology.

INTEGRATED GEOLOGIC INTERPRETATIONS

The true value of gravity and magnetics information lies in its contribution to geologic decisions. To fully optimize the geologic content, we offer interpretation services that integrate gravity and magnetics with seismic, geologic, and borehole data.

Such interpretations allow preplanning of seismic surveys, an independent check on seismic interpretations in difficult areas, an integrated approach to determination of density, verification of basement, information on fault offsets in cases of high-density contrast, and much more.

Gravity and magnetics complement seismic and offer an independent source of information on subsurface geology. Gravity and magnetics improve geologic understanding and reduce exploration risk.

We perform confidential interpretations either in our Denver office or at our clients' facilities.
